I just read the article on Nash Guitars in the most recent Tone Quest report. They give them very high marks.

One of the things they talked about was how finish wear could influence the tone.

Maybe I'm naive, but isn't that slicing the baloney a little thin? Can you hear the difference between a relic'd one that is not?

i don't know about the thickness of the meat, but i think you are talking about the right kind of sandwich.

I read the article as well. I don't know what to make of the whole "relic" thing. Some people swear by the nitrocellulose lacquers they use and how if the finish gets dinged and beaten on, the sound is better. There are many more knowledgeable people than me on this forum and I would be interested in their opinions.

I kind of intrigued, and the relic thing is kind of cool, but - tone? It just doesn't make sense to the physicist in me (but he's not very bright!).
