Hi all,
Forgive my blasphemy, but I am installing Wolfetone Marshallheads in my Hollow Cobra (dual humbuckers). The guitar plays like a dream, but I really want a more vintage voicing, and I have these Wolfetones laying around so I thought I'd give it a try. Per the guy who makes Wolfetone pickups, they have the same lead colors as Anderson pickups.

My Cobra has a 5 way switch where the in betweens put the pickup in parallel, and there's a push pull that splits the pickups when the selector is in the middle.

This might be a stupid question, but can I take out the Anderson pickups (H2+ and H1-) and simply drop in the Wolfetones and wire them up exactly as they are now? I thought I read somewhere that Anderson winds his humbuckers differently than other winders, so I don't want to end up with out of phase pickups if this is true.

For those of you who have swapped out your Anderson humbuckers for another makers, was there anything special that needed to be done or accounted for?
Thanks!

I realize this is just an opinion, but...

I really hate when people do this. It is blasphemy. There are so many Anderson pickups to choose from that would be great in that guitar. Of course you are free to do what you like, but at the very least keep the original pickups when it comes time to sell. Rant off.

No worries. I would gladly install a different pair of Anderson buckers if I had some on hand. Since I have the Wolfetones already just waiting for a guitar, I figure it's worth a try. They're great pickups in their own right.

You have blasphemed just thinking about this!!!! ;)

You should be able to drop them in, as you're not trying to match two different brands of pickups. The good thing is that if you like the more vintage tones, you could always look around for some actual Anderson pickups to go in there.

I'm quite partial to the HF1+ / HF1- combo. In fact I now have Anderson pickups in all of my guitars - even my non-Anderson axes. :)
