What a cool color!
I almost ordered my hollow drop top in that color but changed my mind at the last minute!!:D

It is a VERY cool color. Anderson has documented that guitars finished in Ruby Slippers actually have a more "sparkling" tone than those with more traditional colors. :p

Your pictures seem to be very dark!
It's hard to tell the real color!!

I know. Reds are notoriously hard to capture on a digital camera. Plus, I'm using a Canon which has a reputation for being a bit "soft focus."

The Ruby Slippers color IS darker than you might think, and the sparkles are fairly subtle from a distance. It's definitely not the bright red metal flake I've seen on some Gretsch and G&L guitars. The base color is quite a few shades darker than the "Cherry" we all know and love, leaning more toward burgundy. Not quite as dark as a red wine, but definitely in that vein. The sparkles are tiny and very classy looking. Coupled with the pearl pickguard, it's downright elegant.

This guitar is a '96, which I believe makes it one of the earliest Rubies. As described above, it's definitely darker than Anderson's current Ruby guitars, a sample of which can be seen here:

I know words are no substitute for a good pic, but between my shots, the Anderson sample, and the above description I hope you can get an accurate read. Thank you for your interest, and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Due to popular demand, I posted a new pic of the Ruby on eBay. I used a flash this time, so the color really jumps out a lot better. Let me know if you have any questions, and have a great day.

Very hard to photo. The tag said Ruby metalic.
Wish I still had it.

Great photo! My Ruby Classic has already found a new home, but I still say it's the best playing guitar I've owned. Either that or the Cobra Special, which I also sold. Anderson guitars seem to fit me like a proverbial glove, but in both cases I've ended up sticking with less ergonomic guitars that did a better job nailing the tone I hear in my head. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't keep trying. :)
