SC2 pickups

Currently running VA7 neck and middle with a HF1+ bridge in a short Classic. Couple observations...


I run the VA boost a LOT on the two VA7 pickups, mostly on. This is in addition to rolling the tone back some. Largely because with age and a crappy noisy job my ears have become sensitive to highs.
When I switch to the bridge HF1+, I generally prefer the boost off.
So I end up with a situation where I want the VA booster on for two pickups and off for the bridge the majority of the time. Switching becomes a bit cumbersome.


So... Now I'm thinking... Maybe what I really want is a hotter neck and middle like SC2. Then save the VA boost for special occasions.

if you like the true sinle coil character, you could get a va7+ and va7+R, or you like smoother top end and humcancelling would be a bonus, SC2's would also be good.

Which is more in the ballpark of the VA7 with VA booster on? VA7+ or SC2?

Can't boost be wired to be on only for the pup positions you want?
