I was reading a classified ad for a Pro-Am earlier this afternoon which stated that it was a very early Anderson guitar. It was from 5-25-88. I guess I never really thought about when did Anderson start releasing full production guitars. Does anyone have an approximate date?

Then that also got me wondering how many OGs are owned by board members here and which one is the oldest? Mine is a little older than the one being advertised with a born on date of 4-26-88.

Am curious to see what else is lurking in the dusty corners of this site.:D

"You've gotta have a forum", they said. "It will be fun", they said.

I was joking. I have been told that I have a very dry sense of humor(basically, I am not funny).

I didn't get mine until after perusing the color brochure I received from TA.
My oldest are from 1990.

Tom, did you keep Number 1 or release it into the wild? Sounds like the latter.

it went to a trade show, got sold, then stolen.

So I guess the chances of it surfacing are pretty low. Bummer.

the second one is the test print of a graphic we had screened on the guitar we made for steve vai right before he signed with ibanez. the one above was one we did later for a friend that dan lawrence painted on for us. both are old hockey stick ph's we offered when we sold necks. i don't think you'll see those on any other guitars.

those two belong to an old friend who used to hang out and make pickups in the very early days.

interesting story about that graphic.

it was '85, and i was still doing some artist work for kramer and i had evh's original guitar out for some work, we made a new neck for it and that is when i moved the bridge to the proper place so the guitar could be intonated. it was a full 1/4" too far back on the guitar. anyway, he stopped by to pick it up on his way to a photo shoot in santa barbara driving his Lamborghini. valeries brother was following in a big mercedes so he had to take the guitar. as ed walked in the shop, the body was sitting on a table and when he saw it he said, "looks like steve vai" with no prompting at all. very strange. when he pickup up his guitar he said, "good to have my baby back".
