So I have in my head that this would be a particularly versatile setup on a Classic, especially with the potential switching options. I'm looking this way because right now, I don't see myself in a position to pick up multiple electrics (one for humbuckers, one for single coils, etc)
For anyone that's gone this route, how well has it satisfied your need for a variety of different sounds, in one guitar?

I had that config on one of my Droptops a while back. I think it would be most versatile with the switcheroo system. I had the 5 way. Tom's humbuckers split wonderfully and sometimes you want a single coil sound for the neck. With a 5 way, its full on hum. With switcheroo, you can flip up for single and down for hum.
There might be a toggle switch wiring option for the 5-way in that config, but I'm not aware of it..just my .02

I owned a 99 classic in the H-S-H format and was pleased. I am a big user of neck humbucker and at the time that was my only/main guitar. I also play a lot of dual humbucker ESPs so when I have those on hand, I have been more apt to go S-S-H on my Andersons. I however, only had this particular Classic wired up at the factory with a 3 way to keep it simple but I would concur with Casper if you are looking to get a lot of versatility out of one axe, then Switcheroo is the way to go. I am not sure if you are looking to buy new or used but I counted at least a half doz. Classics and DTCs on eBay/Reverb with HSH. There's also this beauty if you are willing to ditch the pickguard: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tom-Anderson-Hollow-Drop-Top-in-Key-Lime-Burst-/311358825533?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item487e6ea43d

Both of my Angels are HSH, and the versatility is incredible. I also have two push pulls, on volume and tone, for splits on the bridge and neck respectively. And on top of that, I have a VA booster, so I believe that's about a total of 14 sounds? Since Anderson Pickups split better than anything (imo) you can get so many non traditional humbucker sounds just depending on how you have it wired.
normally an HSH guitar has a master splitter so the split sounds are easily available.

Ok, I completed the purchase on my H-S-H Classic. Exciting stuff as I get deeper into the world of Anderson...

I'm too poor for a custom order! This one is second hand.

Of course I do realize how absurd it is to say I'm poor while I talk about my new (to me) Anderson guitar... All relative, I suppose!
