It has been well-loved in Colorado over the past 4 years.
I loved the neck size (Even Taper + 0.050") and the tremolo kept the string spacing/playability spot on compared to my short DT I normally play. I have another Bulldog with PQs which is very light and noticeably thinner than this Bulldog. This Bulldog has some girth and weight, but still well under 9 lbs (maybe much less, I haven't weighed it). The flame top is fantastic in person.
This Bulldog plays like a dream as expected and is very well balanced. It has had the two normal Anderson strap button holes filled and replaced with one central strap button. Very clean job. Honeymoon is on.
The toggle switch has some scratchiness to it. When I switched to bridge PU the sound went off! A couple of switches up and down seemed to clean that up. Will get some Deoxit to it.
I'm a little scared of the "floating" tremolo. It definitely pulls up as well. I have a classic with a flat tremolo. This one is pretty fun, but I don't want to replace the strings until I know if one at a time is necessary.
I would normally take all the strings off to condition the fretboard/cleaning, but i've had trouble with other trems/floyds.
Should I just do 1 at a time??? Strings seem pretty fresh so will wait to change.
ALso, I WANT TO CHANGE THE KNOBS :(
Where do I get replacements? Amber hats or whatever were original would suffice. THx
