Hey Folks- Thought I would share some news.
Well my gig of 15 years, Casper decided to fold as a band after nearly 40 years in the business...a day after I turned 50..very prophetic. It was a lot of fun, but it was time to move on. A certain staleness had set in with me as a player.

As luck would have it, I am in a new band, "The Recliners" http://www.therecliners.com/
Its quite refreshing and challenging as a guitarist. Our leader takes classic pop/grunge/rock tunes and does Lounge arrangements! Been a long time since I have done swing and bossa stuff..OR read charts! We are also doing classic pop and current Top 40, so a bit of familiarity, but they are quite interesting musically and I feel like I've gotten a new lease on my guitar playing already. Hope to be out on the road within a month with these guys.

Strange as this will sound, I thought I would be using my Classic with VA5's, but I have SO been loving my HTC with the H1 and M2 in the bridge (in the picture). It just..works for this gig? BTW, we're doing "Back in Black" by AC/DC..there are major 7th chords in the chart!!! :0)

Danno, I am learning chords I didn't know existed! The previous guitar player was a jazz guy with killer chops and there are a couple of songs that I need to cop his solos...frustrating. This is like a wake up call for my playing though (and my reading) and it really tells me that I was WAY into a comfort zone playing the same stuff in Casper for 15 years. The leader likes my rock stuff though so I am able to loosen up some of the arrangements. The music is very interesting. Need to shed some Tommy Tedesco!;)
